On my trip down to Clermont Florida, my humans decided we should stay at the Parris Island R.V. Campground on the legendary Marine Corp Recruit Depot, Parris Island.
The campground is near The Legends Golf Course on base. The campground has 18 full hookup sites with a bath house and laundry facility. This is a very small campground that is adjacent a very lightly traveled road.
As with most military post campground, the bathhouse and slots are very well maintained and clean. The water pressure was about 50 psi, so makes for great showers in the RV. The slots we fairly flat and only took one block and about 10-minutes to get completely level. Each campsite has a concrete pad and picnic table. Currently, there is no internet available. There is a sign that states that internet services are disrupted due to the damage caused by Hurricane Matthew. The sign also states that they are anticipating it to be fixed by the end of January (today is March 12th). Oh, and did I mention the price, $20 per night.
This campground is awesome if you need a place to stay and want to avoid the boondocking in a Walmart parking lot.
